TIGRAY DISASTER RELIEF FUND

What We Do.

The mission of TDRF is to alleviate human suffering and provide short-term disaster relief for the people of Tigray. In accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), TDRF strives to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all ages across Tigray. We got to work in 2018, providing immediate relief and support to families being uprooted because of ethnic conflict and political violence across different Ethiopian regions.

Where we focus.

TDRF believes that at the core of empowered and self-sustaining communities are robust systems of education, economy, and health. These systems will strengthen and support one another as each is vital to help improve the quality of life in every community. It will be most important for TDRF and partners to address barriers by providing disaster relief in each of these systems.

Disasters often have a significant impact on public health. In more vulnerable parts of the world, that impact can be exacerbated by weak or nonexistent health care systems and infrastructure.

Where We Work

The work of TRDF is touching the lives of thousands of people in Tigray. Due to the war in Tigray, millions have forcibly been internally and externally displaced from their homes since November 2020 and we are immensely working to reach those displaced by the war.

To accomplish its mission, TRDF partners with local government agencies and non-profit organizations that are committed to help people in need by implementing solutions to solve the challenges they face.
