A study on the impact of the conflict on Tigray’s education sector paints a grim picture. The war has undone years of progress, with findings showing that 88.3% of classrooms have been severely damaged. This damage includes the theft, dismantling, and burning of 96.5% of student desks, 95.9% of blackboards, 63.5% of student textbooks, as well as the vandalism or destruction of 85.1% of computers, 79.9% of plasma screens, 84.5% of science laboratory equipment, 92.5% of educational models, and more than 48% of toilet facilities.
